Florida Spring Youth Football League
SICOA officials enjoy the opportunity to officiate spring tackle football annually by officiating with the Florida Spring Youth Football League.
This is 8 x 8 youth tackle football played from mid-February to late April.
Three on-field officials are used. Games last about 60 minutes as all games are running clocks. Officials are compensated $30 per game with an average schedule of 4-8 games. Games are played on Saturday's at eight different venues in Hillsborough, Pinellas and Polk County's. Games generally last under one hour each.
The FSYFL bay area employs crews to work each Saturday for six (6) regular season weeks. Three weeks of playoffs, The Super Bowl weekend (2 days) and the Pro Bowl (all-star game weekend) which could bring an officials season to eleven weeks of game assignments.. Many sites have multiple fields (2-3) running at the same time.
The FSYFL league is a statewide tournament format with over 230 teams competing from Naples to Gainesville and Jacksonville to the Palm Beaches. It culminates with a two day state championship in Tarpon Springs, followed a week later with all star and pro bowl games.

The FSYFL is broken up into eight (8) officiating regions. Each region has an Area
Assistant Supervisor of Officials that coordinates training and game assignments.
For those officials that reside south and east of the Tampa Bay area, please contact
the Supervisor listed below that could give you information about their region.
For officials residing in Manatee County south to Naples, please contact:
Chuck Collums, FSYFL Region C-South Assistant Supervisor of Officials
For officials residing in the Orlando area, please contact:
Louis Prano, FSYFL Region B-Central Assistant Supervisor of Officials
For officials residing in Hernando County north including Ocala & Gainsville, please contact:
Wade Clayton, Region B-West Assistant Supervisor of Officials
There are four other regions in the state for areas not covered above.
Please Note: Although SICOA Officials officiate games in the Tampa Bay area, this is NOT a SICOA contracted conference. Officials register directly with the FSYFLOA and are independent contractors retained annually to officiate their games. Thus, there may be officials working games that are not on SICOA's regular officiating staff.

Spring Interscholastic Scrimmages
Spring & Fall Classic Games & Jamborees
SICOA officials are required to participate each spring in at least one school scrimmage and one spring game. This is a great way to start fueling up for the fall season, checking your game equipment and having some fun seeing some old faces. We also utilize this for members of the "B" group to use for training and evaluation purposes.
In the spring, we allow officials to choose the dates they wish to work. This is also a great opportunity for RT's (referee trainees).
Scrimmages are generally in the afternoon during the week and on Saturday's. Spring games are played between May 17th and May 31st.
Spring scrimmages and games are assigned & coordinated by The SICOA Training Director.
Full information on all available scrimmages and games will be given at the May 10, 2016 general membership meeting at Tampa Bay Tech High School.
SPRING INTERECHOLASTIC DATES: TBD
Classic Games on TBD.
Scrimmages are assigned by The SICOA Training Director.
